All IT assets are audited to determine how old they are and if they can be resold as working equipment. What can be refurbished is repaired here and resold. What can not be saved is transported to our downstream recycling partner where it is broken down to board level. All of our downstream partner refineries hold various certificates. We would be happy to share their certifications with you upon request.

Yes. The value of the equipment depends on the year, generation, software clearance, service and usability level. ie Microsoft is dropping windows 7 as a supported OS. It was replaced by windows 10 and can now be upgraded to windows 11, but only on Intel processors that are 8th generation and newer.

AfterTech ITAD recycles & destroys electronic equipment & metals in compliance with the State, Federal, NIST standards listed in Guidelines for Media Sanitation, Publication 800-88 Revision 1 for as follows: All hard drives are first physically destroyed at our office with a 20-ton press, rendering them unusable. They are then transported to and shredded or melted down at our downstream recycling partner’s facility during the final refining process in compliance with the NIST standards for High-Risk Media. A Certificate of Destruction and Recycle (COD) is provided for every pickup and upon request for drop offs.
